Welcome to the
Westwood Athletic Hall of Fame
Home Page.

Westwood Regional High School has started an Athletic Hall of Fame to celebrate the rich traditions of our sports programs and the coaches and athletes who participated in them. The first group of inductees included athletes, coaches, championship teams, and a special contributor to the athletic program. They were introduced at a dinner and ceremony that took place on October 24, 2009.

The day's events included the following:

Inductee Introduction at Homecoming Football Game                 1:00 PM

Tour of Westwood Regional Jr./Sr. High School                        4:00 PM

Light Refreshments and Hors d'oeuvres                                    4:30 PM

Dinner and Induction                                                                5:30 PM

The first group selected for induction into the Westwood High School Athletic Hall of Fame included athletes Jack Adams ’38, Wesley Bomm ’48, Bob Lewis ’55, Lenny Johnson ’59, John Betancourt ’68, Jeff Boyd ’73, Mark Geimke ’80, Regina Weinpahl ’83, Jennifer Finley ’88, and Jeanne Hengemuhle ’88; coaches Bill Byrne, Judy Morofsky, Jack Kane, and Bill Morrow; the 1951 State Championship basketball team and the 1974 County Championship softball team; and special contributor to our athletic program, Dr. Allan Levy.

The Selection Committee was comprised of former Westwood athletes and coaches whose involvement in Westwood High School sports spanned the past seven decades. Many qualified individuals and teams were nominated and considered by the committee, so these inductees represent a very special and honored group in the long history of Westwood High School athletics.
