Westwood Jr./Sr. High School
Student Assistance Counselor
Student Assistance services at Westwood Jr./Sr. High School encompass confidential counseling across a wide range of issues for both students and their parents. The Student Assistance Program works closely with existing in-school services to provide support for students whose personal concerns may be affecting their academic success and behavior at school. The SAC is a highly trained professional with experience in many areas which impact adolescent functioning, including some of the most challenging problems. The SAC is also trained to assist students in families impacted by alcohol or substance abuse. At times, parents are looking for assistance in assessing the level of alcohol or drug abuse by their children -- Mrs. Soos can be a valuable resource at these times. Early identification, intervention, referral for evaluation and treatment, and continuity of care are also included in the Student Assistance Program.
