Students are identified for enrollment in Language Arts Lab and/or Mathematics Lab (formerly Basic Skills) based on identified areas of instructional needs indicated by course grades and NJASK results. If a student is identified for Lab enrollment they will take the Lab course either during the first or second semester in lieu of an elective course. After two years of critically considering the enrollment procedures to best identify students in need and provide them the appropriate intervention, the below criteria table will be implemented to identify students. If a parent feels their child is in need of Lab instruction, but has not been identified, they can request enrollment by contacting their child's School Counselor.
