The Helping Hands club completed its first year at the Westwood Regional Middle School during the 2010-2011 school year. The club raised over $3500.00 donating to Hackensack Hospital Children’s fund, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Susan G. Komen Foundation. The club recognized Mix-It-Up Day, safe schools week, teacher appreciation week, World Oceans Day in addition to holding a needs drive for our troops overseas and sponsoring other school wide programs.
The Helping Hands Club will be offered again this school year to allow our 6th and 7th grade students the opportunity to give back to their school and community. We look forward to sponsoring another superhero day, taping Mr. Seipp to the wall and embarking on new programs the students are interested in participating in.
