Students at George School have the opportunity to purchase lunch each day at George School. A full lunch is $2.00 each day. Two options are available each day for hot lunch. Additionally, salads, bagels, and deli sandwiches are available daily. Please visit the Food Services page for important information, including menus, price lists, and information on how to pre-pay your student account. Visit wwrsd.org - Our District - Food Services. You can also pay a balance to the cafeteria by sending in check or money with your student, labeled, in the morning. Checks can be made payable to "Westwood Regional School District". Thank you for helping our cafeteria run smoothly!
Many groups are collecting items for those in need this holiday season. Consider donating the following items: Daisy Troop 5559 is collecting canned or boxed goods for the Food Pantry in Hillsdale. We are joining with Washington School to collect new or gently used hats, gloves, scarves and coats for adults and children in need. Brownie Troop 5192 is collecting all types of shoes, boots, and dance shoes in any size. Donations will be sent to Soles4Souls. Old markers are being recycled - ColorCycle them! Send in your old markers! Thank you for supporting these causes!
Parents and guardians, please be aware of drop-off procedures in the morning. On days with nice weather, we line up on the blacktop area between 8:30 and 8:40 AM. You can drop and go in the back of the school (Willow Street), or park on either the front or back of the school and walk your child to line. If you are using the front loop for drop-off, you must pull all the way to the end of the loop - the flagpole, and students must walk around the building to line up. This year, we do have students riding a school bus each morning. The school bus will be stopping at the stop sign to drop-off those students. In addition, cars CANNOT drive around a stopped school bus. This is not only a safe practice, but also state law! Cars using the drop-off line in the front of the school must wait in line and follow these procedures for the safety of our children.
The Westwood Regional School District is the only K-12 regional school district in Bergen County, serving approximately 2,700 students from the Borough of Westwood and the Township of Washington. The district is composed of four K-5 "neighborhood" elementary schools, a 6-7 Middle School, and a 8-12 Jr./Sr. High School that also houses much of the district’s special education services, along with our preschool program. Our primary goal is to establish high quality, comprehensive programs that prepare all students to be productive and creative citizens. To successfully implement such programs, the district needs to involve family, school, and community members who ultimately share responsibility for the program’s success. For more information about each of our schools, please click on the individual school tab above.
After several meetings with staff members and Board of Education members, District Goals were established for the 2013-2014 school year. Click “2013-2014 District Goals” under the Announcement section below to view the six Goals as well Objectives & Action Plans for each goal…
