The Remedial Program provides individual or small group assistance to children requiring support with their math and literacy skills in the regular education program. These children are not serviced by Special Education. The assistance is provided to children in grades 1-5 who demonstrate a need for support as assessed through the standardized tests and teacher recommendations. Children who fall below established minimum levels of proficiency are considered candidates for this program. Unique instructional approaches may include:
a. review and reinforcement of essential skills
b. concrete examples
c. multisensory techniques
d. modified materials
e. consistency in approach
f. structured learning environment
