Our seniors recently participated in a Pre-Prom Safety Program designed to promote responsible decision-making as they prepare for prom, graduation, and the summer months ahead.
The program began with a live demonstration on the front lawn involving police, fire, and EMS personnel from both the Township of Washington and Westwood. First responders worked around a heavily damaged vehicle placed on school grounds, providing students with a powerful visual reminder of the devastating consequences that can result from impaired or distracted driving.
Following the demonstration, seniors attended an impactful presentation by Steven’s Story, which further reinforced the importance of making safe and responsible choices related to driving, alcohol, and substance use.
These experiences served as important reminders that the decisions students make can have lifelong consequences, not only for themselves, but also for their families, friends, and community.
Thank you to our local first responders, as well as the presenters from Steven’s Story, for sharing their time, expertise, and personal experiences with our students. We are grateful for their continued partnership and for all they do to support the safety and well-being of our school community.
