In January, Washington School participated in the Great Kindness Challenge. As a result, we have been recognized as a Kindness Certified School! The class who performed the most acts of kindness was 1G, who earned an extra recess for their wonderful accomplishment!
Our fifth grade Peer Leaders demonstrate leadership and responsibility by assisting our younger students daily. They are wonderful role models for their fellow Washington students!
Our kindergarten students celebrated the 100th day of school with a fashion show! We loved seeing the creativity each student displayed in creating their own personalized shirt!
Last week we celebrated our student successes with special rewards! Our Washington Cool Cardinals winners from Sept.-Nov. and our Great Kindness Challenge winners got to enjoy an extra recess with friends :)
Third graders participated in a Valentine's Day Breakout EDU puzzle activity that fosters communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity while reviewing important skills. When the puzzle was solved students got to unlock a special Valentine surprise!
Today we are 100 days smarter! Students recognized the day by participating in a variety of fun math activities and special projects!
What a treat to visit our 3rd grade writing celebration today! Students shared their "expert" books with peers and provided positive feedback to on another. Awesome collaboration and community building!

Washington School is proud to welcome Officer Thomas Solimano, our new SLEO (Special Law Enforcement Officer). "Mr. T." has already started to get know staff and students, and will be a great resource for us throughout the year!

The building may be quiet but there is a lot going on! Our summer staff are very busy preparing for the students' return in September. Thank you to our new secretary Mrs. Stewart, our custodians Mr. Frank and Mr. Jim, and the technology department for all of your hard work!
So excited to have the opportunity to participate in a four day institute with Responsive Classroom. This innovative program focuses on social emotional learning and community building in schools. All of our K-5 staff will be trained this fall!
