
Ms. Kemple and the her students in the High School Science National Honor Society completing the 2023 Shoebox Project. The goal was to pack 10 shoe boxes with books, footballs, small stuffed animals, highlighters, and anything else that would easily fit into a shoebox. They are then hand-delivering them to 3-8th grade classes in Newark for the holidays. This year they surpassed their goal and are sending 20 boxes! Great job!

Our high school counselors are meeting with the Class of 2025 this week into next. Counselors will guide students through the junior year process while utilizing Naviance to complete surveys & explore career/college opportunities that meet their needs and interests.


Today at our high school coding club meeting, we hosted 4 former students and 2 working professionals on a zoom to talk about coding in college and in the workforce. Students were able to ask questions and hear about the world of computer science!


We are excited to announce the Westwood Regional High School Educator of the Year, Mr. Ray Piskadlo and our Educational Specialist of the Year, Mrs. Irene Zito. Thank you for everything you do for our students. We are very fortunate to have you both. Congratulations!



Ms. Calderon attended the AI Literacy Summit @NV to work with other educational leaders on ways to support AI into the classroom. Our WRHS A.P. Mr. Kenduck presented a session on AI and Chat GPT in the Social Studies classroom! Great job Mr. Kenduck!

Four students represented the Westwood Regional High School GSA Club at the 5th Annual LGBTQ+ Bergen County Leadership Summit. This event, sponsored by the county, unites GSAs from all around Bergen and gives them the opportunity to learn leadership skills and connect with students with similar goals.


Ms. Kemple’s AP Biology class learning animal behaviors using Pill bugs and different stimuli.



Chloe Wozny is participating in our Work Based Learning Program. As part of the program, she assisted in 1st grade with Ms. Mazanec at George School. Chloe is pursuing a degree in elementary education. Great experience!


The WRHS World Language Dept attended the part two workshop with Dr. Goebel, Ms. Calderon, and Mr. Kenduck on how to model output activities at any level. With special emphasis given to the role of input, the critical element in language acquisition, this follow-up workshop explored output, the other side of the equation!

The U.S. Department of Education announced the release date for the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The form is scheduled to go live by December 31, 2023.


Westwood Regional School District hosted a successful HIB program offered to all parents in the district. Topics covered included the HIB law, HIB investigation process, peer conflict versus bullying, and various case studies.
