BIG NEWS FROM ONE OF OUR VERY OWN JFG KIDS!
We are bursting with pride and excitement to celebrate Chiara, who has been selected as a Scholastic News Kid Reporter for the 2026–2027 school year!
As a Kid Reporter, Chiara will have the incredible opportunity to conduct interviews and write articles about local and national events as they relate to the literary world, putting her curiosity, creativity, and love of storytelling into action!
And this opportunity couldn’t be more perfect for Chiara. Her dream is to become an author of realistic fiction novels when she grows up, and she’s already taking an amazing step toward that dream!
We couldn’t be prouder to see one of our JFG kids embracing her voice, pursuing her passions, and making her mark as a young writer and reporter.
Congratulations, Chiara! We can’t wait to follow along as you share your stories and experiences with the world. Keep writing, keep asking questions, and keep dreaming BIG! #MakingOneLeaderAtATime #JustFocusonGrowing

National Walk to School Day was a BLAST! We had so much fun gathering at Voorhis Park and starting our day off with a brisk walk to school. We even had music playing and some students danced as they walked. A special thank you to our staff who joined us and the Westwood Police Department for keeping us safe along the way. #BrooksidePride #BuildingBrightFutures

Today we kicked off our Week of Respect by challenging our students to say hello to 3 people from a different class or grade. In addition our students "stepped up for respect" by wearing crazy socks ! #BrooksidePride #BuildingBrightFutures

As we begin our Week of Respect, let’s remember that respect starts with treating one another with kindness, compassion, patience, and love.
This video is a beautiful reminder that every smile, every helping hand, every encouraging word, and every moment of connection can make a difference. We never truly know what someone else may be carrying, so let’s choose to lead with kindness and make our school a place where everyone feels seen, valued, welcomed, and respected.
THANK YOU, Ms. Kim and ALL our JFG kids, for such an amazing tribute to this week and the whole year ahead! CLICK THE LINK BELOW and ENJOY! #JustFocusonGrowing

Today, we celebrate the superheroes who keep our spaces clean, safe, and ready for action, our amazing custodians!
They may not wear capes, but their superpowers are undeniable: dedication, hard work, attention to detail, and a commitment to making a difference every day.
Thank you to our custodians, Mr. Etiene, Mr. Nick, and Mr. Carl, for being the everyday heroes we can always count on! HAPPY NATIONAL CUSTODIAN DAY!

Week of Respect. Our district will recognize and celebrate Week of Respect from Monday, October 5 to Friday, October 9, 2026. The Anti-Bullying Bills of Rights set aside this week to promote positive character education and allow for activities designed to prevent harassment, intimidation, and bullying. Our school counselors are encouraging students to come together and promote school spirit and positive peer interactions.
Please review our district counseling newsletter sent yesterday and also available on our school counseling home page.
