🌸 A Blooming Surprise for Brookside!
There is nothing quite like the lasting bond between a teacher and a student! Today, our Brookside mailboxes were filled with some extra sunshine thanks to a very special alumna.

Isabella (Bella) Cassai, a former Brookside student now at the high school, has been pouring her heart into a beautiful initiative called "The Crochet Project." To show her gratitude for the teachers who supported her journey, Bella hand-crocheted a unique flower for every single teacher in our building!

Seeing our former students give back with such thoughtfulness is a powerful reminder of the impact our educators have every day. We are so proud of Bella and her incredible talent!

Follow Bella’s journey and see more of her amazing work at @crochetflowerproject.

Yesterday, the high school welcomed The Black Poster Project, a powerful and moving program dedicated to honoring the lives lost to substance use and raising awareness about addiction, recovery, and prevention. Through hundreds of memorial posters featuring the faces and stories of loved ones, students and staff were reminded that substance use disorder impacts real people, families, and communities.

The presentation encouraged important conversations about mental health, stigma, and the importance of support and prevention. By sharing personal stories of love, loss, and resilience, The Black Poster Project helped foster empathy, understanding, and hope while reminding students that no one is alone in their struggles. The program left a lasting impact on our school community and inspired all of us to continue promoting kindness, awareness, and support for one another.

NJ4S is offering a vaping program tonight at 7pm. Join this virtual session for the latest information about the vaping crisis impacting our youth. This session will utilize the Don't Get Vaped In curriculum to introduce the dangers of vaping, and what to look out for, with a stronger emphasis on strategies that parents can use/share with their kids for how to quit vaping.
Learn about the truths they don’t tell you. Learn how nicotine primes the brain for addiction, serious health risks linked to use, and eye-opening stats to build a caring, stigma free culture.
