September is National Suicide Prevention Month. It is important to emphasize the critical importance of suicide prevention in our schools. Announcements will be shared the week of September 22nd raising awareness for suicide prevention.
Suicide prevention is not the responsibility of a single person or program. It takes a network of caring professionals, advocates, educators, clinicians, peer supporters, and community members working together to create hope, connection, and access to help. Through your dedication, compassion, and expertise you are helping to save lives.
9-8-8 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline magnet/window cling to post in your classroom. The 9-8-8 Lifeline offers free, confidential support 24/7 to anyone experiencing thoughts of suicide, a mental health crisis, or emotional distress.
Creating safe, responsive, and supportive learning environments is a collective responsibility. We thank you for continuing to prioritize suicide prevention and youth mental health as an essential part of school safety and student well-being. Together, we can make sure everyone knows where to turn in a time of need.
