The school counseling department is excited to bring back Timothy Shoemaker to speak about the importance of living a healthy drug-free lifestyle, respecting others, and celebrating differences. We invite middle and high school parents to attend an evening program on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Westwood Regional Senior High School, Hurley Theater at 6:30pm


NJ STARS Program - Bergen Community College. The New Jersey Student Tuition Assistance Reward Scholarship (NJ STARS) program is an initiative created by the State of NJ that provides our highest achieving students with free tuition at their home county community colleges. The NJ STARS state scholarship program covers the cost of tuition, less any state and/or federal grants and scholarships for up to five semesters. To be considered for the NJ STARS program, you must be a: -NJ resident who ranks in the top 15% of their high school class at the end of their junior or senior year -U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen and legal New Jersey resident for a minimum of 12 consecutive months before high school graduation -Student who enrolls full-time in a degree program by the fifth semester after high school graduation at their home county community college. Brookside students and staff wore blue on Monday for National "Stomp Out Bullying" day. They also participated in a PTO sponsored dance assembly reinforcing the importance of standing up for each other and believing in yourself to begin our Week of Respect. #BESTatBrookside

October is National Bullying Prevention and Awareness Month. The new 2NDFLOOR app was developed to meet the urgent need for youth mental health support in New Jersey, and it consists of one-on-one chat and call functions that allow youth to connect to counselors any discuss any issue that they are facing.


As we demonstrate respect every day, we proudly kicked off the Week of Respect wearing blue! Together, we STOMP OUT BULLYING today and every day. Let's continue to stand united promoting a culture of respect. #JustFocusonGrowing
