Chemistry students visited The American Museum of Natural History focusing on the Earth and Planetary Science Halls, particularly in the Mignone Halls of Gems and Minerals, showcasing minerals, meteorites, and gems, offering insights into planetary processes and the formation of Earth materials. Students attended a space show at the world-renowned Hayden Planetarium as an entire group.

Our colleagues at Ramapo Indian Hills have invited us to attend a webinar with Rob Frankek as the Editor-in-Chief of the Princeton Review. The topic is AI Meets Admission: Navigating Innovation and Uncertainty in College Essay
The presentation is Wednesday evening (March 26th) beginning at 7pm-8pm
The presentation will focus on how AI is used in college admissions. Rob Franek will discuss AI tools available to students and offer support on how to navigate the changing landscape of college admissions. While this presentation is best for members of the Class of 2026, students and parents of all grade levels are invited to register and listen.

WRMS AV Club got an exclusive look at the WRHS WTV/Film studio classroom during a recent visit. Digital Media Teacher, Joan Petrocelli and her students demonstrated live TV production, and interviewed the middle schoolers for WTV's newest show, 'THE NEST'!

High School World language students enjoyed exploring medieval art at The MET Cloisters in New York City on Friday. A beautiful day for a great trip!





Congratulations to the champions of the 2024-2025 debate season, Angel Morales and Daniel Shotkin, who came in first place at Friday’s varsity championship tournament here at Westwood High School. Angel and Daniel had a perfect debate record this season, and now for the first time in Westwood history, have brought home a championship title to our school. An equally impressive shout-out to Leah Tatis who was selected as Best Judge of the tournament. What a fabulous way to end Westwood debate’s best season yet. Anyone interested in joining our school’s debate team should see Ms. Vallorano. Our team looks forward to begin preparations for next year!



Thank you to our Board of Education for recognizing our students for receiving the Seal of Biliteracy given to students who have demonstrated proficiency in English and one other language. 8 students for French, 1 for German, 1 for Russian, 2 for Italian, and 24 for Spanish.

A huge congratulations to our JV debate team for an incredible end to the team’s first season. Ava Communale was awarded best judge last night at the JV championship tournament. Additionally Samantha Martino and Ritikka Jeyachandran were one of 5 teams out of 60 that finished the night with a 6-0 record! It was announced that Martino and Jeyachandran finished the year in 4th place - a true accomplishment! We are so proud of everyone’s hard work and are eager to start prepping for our next season.
