
Mrs. Crean and Mr. Guy's Geometry class used the game of UNO and applied it to logical reasoning via writing two column proofs. In Geometry, proof writing can be a difficult skill in itself. This activity was fun and helped students apply logic behind their reasoning.

A representative from Alternatives to Domestic Violence in Hackensack, NJ will speak to all students in grades 8 and 9 during health class. Topics: dating violence & warning signs, setting boundaries, sexting, & treating yourself and others with respect.


Ms. Murray, our structured learning experience coordinator, visited Mobile Technical Training in Hackensack . A professional accredited training school that offers training in mobile electronics installation and fabrication, automotive upholstery and automotive vinyl wrapping. They offer financial aid and job assistance.

10th Grade Driver's Ed class participated in the "Save a Life Tour"! This is a comprehensive high impact safe driving awareness program that informs, educates, and demonstrates the potentially deadly consequences resulting from poor choices and decisions made by the driver.

Syracuse University Economics Professor, Don Dutkowsky, made his annual visit with Mr. Thames' Economics class. Westwood HS & Syracuse have a partnership that allows our students to earn a Syracuse University transcript and 3 college credits.
