Today we are 100 days smarter! Students recognized the day by participating in a variety of fun math activities and special projects!

There's a little extra "LOVE FOR LEARNING" around JFG today as we celebrate Valentine's Day and our 100th DAY OF SCHOOL! #JustFocusonGrowing

Berkeley is sending lots of LOVE for Valentine's Day and celebrating the 100th day of school!

What a treat to visit our 3rd grade writing celebration today! Students shared their "expert" books with peers and provided positive feedback to on another. Awesome collaboration and community building!

A beautiful day to be enjoying the sunshine! Research says that fresh air and movement help our brains to function better, and therefore learn more. So fun catching up with our amazing students! @WashCardinals

Ms. Kemple’s, Mr. Piskadlo’s, Mr. Gunneson’s, and Mr. Tresvalleses's classes met Navy nuclear engineers Petty Officer Connors and Petty Officer Sinos who have extensive knowledge of the scientific principles behind the operation of the Navy's nuclear propulsion systems and are subject matter experts in their field. Topics covered include but were not limited to: Basic Thermodynamics , Nuclear Fission Nuclear Decay, History of the development of nuclear science and nuclear propulsion technology, Current practical applications of nuclear technology to include Green Energy alternatives, and Biological effects of radiation

Students in Mr. Tresvalles's Mechatronics class are building and testing their autonomously moving VEX Tumbler Bots!

Happy School Counseling Week, Mrs. James! The Brookside School Community is grateful for ALL you do! #BESTatBrookside

Happy Friendship Friday!
What are Berkeley Students grateful for? Take a closer look our Berkeley Gratitude Wall. Thank you to all our students, Mrs. Massaro, and Berkeley Staff!

Berkeley School honored our Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Massaro, with a book containing all the reasons why she is so special and loved. Thank you to Mrs. Seigle for organizing the school event during Guidance Counselor Week!

Students in Mrs. Maul's and Mr. Krebs' Physics class are wrapping up their culminating project for their momentum unit by testing the crashworthiness of their paper cars. . They were tasked with following the Engineering Design Process to research vehicle safety features and then design and construct a car entirely out of 2 pieces of paper, tape, 1 wooden skewer, and 1 straw. Their design needed to fit certain size specifications, include at least 3 vehicle safety features, travel quickly down an inclined track, and protect its occupant (a plastic egg) from ejection, fracture, or significant harm when it collided with a brick wall.

Jenna Visich, a senior in our Work Based Learning Program, at her internship with AIM Neuro Rehab in Westwood where she is assisting both the physical and occupational therapists in daily activities. Jenna is majoring in microbiology after high school.

Congratulations to the Westwood Regional High School Class of 2023 Valedictorian, Matthew Ryan! Great job!

Congratulations to the Westwood Regional High School Class of 2023 Salutatorian, Mackenzie Fox. Great job Mackenzie!

Ms. Gilbert's and Mr. O'Connor's Chemistry class worked on a Hydrates Lab which assisted them in utilizing mole conversions to determine the ratio between Copper (II) sulfate molecules & water of hydration. Students were then able to calculate the mass, the number of moles of anhydrous copper (II) sulfate, and the mass/ moles lost from hydrate and determine the mole ratio of copper (II) sulfate and water. This lab activity culminated with the student's discovery of how the formula of copper (II) sulfate hydrate was developed.

Mrs. Houck. and first grade students are becoming masters at comparing numbers.

Our Kindergarten students earned a STEM "In-School Snow Day!" JFG continues to provide opportunities for students to get creative and collaborate! They created the perfect igloo! #JustFocusonGrowing
