Great Kindness Challenge 2023 is here! Our Theme Week began as we dream of more ways to be kind and learning in our pajamas today.

The art department participated in a new exhibit and contest called Young Expressions at the Art Center of Northern NJ. The following students were selected to represent Westwood Regional H.S. Greta Gashler, Danielle DeSantis - Drawing, Claire Eo - Painting, Michael Cordo - Mixed Media,
Ryan Van Auken - Photography, Kaitlyn Park - Sculpture, Danielle DeSantis was awarded 1st place in Drawing. Greta Gashler was awarded 3rd place Best in Show. We are so proud of all of the students and the quality and creativity they exhibit in their work.



JFG celebrated the consistent demonstration of perseverance, kindness, respect, and growth among our students! The Principal's Award recognizes ALL the amazing characteristics of our students!




The Great Kindness Challenge

High School students observed Brain & Spinal surgeries live-streamed to the Liberty Science Center from Summit Medical Center. Students interacted with the presenters asking great questions and gained knowledge about careers in biotechnology, medical science, and medicine.

Our 5th graders worked together to create the message our on board! Job well done, and they choose a great message! Lead on JFG! #JustFocusonGrowing

Happy PD Day for our WWRSD teachers! WRMS/WWHS phys. education team worked with Judy LoBianco on ways to make students feel competent during PE. Our WRMS math team worked with i-Ready on monitoring progress growth with the student data provided. Great job to all!


Our January 17, 2023 Professional Development Day includes Responsive Classroom Training for teachers and aides and Crisis Intervention Training.

The High School Debate Team had a GREAT time competing at Emerson High School. Congratulations to Angel Morales and Daniel Shotkin for taking home a trophy for 3rd best overall team, and to Gabi Tavares for winning best judge. GO CARDS!!!

WWHS Science teachers (Ms. Hartwick, Mr. Piskadlo, Dr. Goffe, Ms. McKaba, Mr. McQuade, Mr. Chen, and Mrs. Menken) worked and shared ideas with PV/PH science teachers on ways to create a Portrait of a Science Graduate! Great Work team!



High School students attended a field trip to the Universal Technical Institute in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Students received a detailed tour of the school as well as a chance to meet with admission counselors .



Mr. Miller conducted an experiment with our WRMS students on a catapult experiment. The transfer of energy from the spring to a marshmallow provides potential energy resulting in the marshmallow having kinetic energy as it flies through the air.

Mrs. Lepore and her first grade students practice how to greet each other during today's Morning Meeting, using eye contact and introducing themselves.
