
High School student Kaitlyn Park's photographic artwork was chosen to be displayed for Youth Art Month. Her work was chosen for the State Exhibition this year. Each year the Art Educators of New Jersey collaborate with Art Educators throughout the State of New Jersey to present an exhibition of student artwork celebrating Youth Art Month. Congratulations Kaitlyn!

A big thank you to the PSO who helped to create a new educational opportunity. Through a mini grant, Ms. Morrison was able to order Virtual Reality Glasses for her World History class. The students learned about Gothic Cathedrals in Medieval Europe and took a virtual tour!

This week we celebrate our school counselors for National School Counseling Week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). I would like to personally thank our Westwood Regional School Counselors. Each counselor works to provide their students with the utmost attention and concern. WWRSD Special Education Parents Advisory Group (SEPAG) is hosting another virtual meeting next Wednesday, February 7th, 6pm. The NJ Dept. of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities, will present "Navigating the DDD System."
This one-hour webinar will include a Q&A session and will explain the types of services, support and opportunities available after schooling ends. The DDD encourages families to start thinking about this transition around age 16 (but encourages families with any age children/young adults to attend).

Black History Month is an annual celebration of the contributions and accomplishments of Black Americans who have helped shaped our history. The 2024 theme, “African Americans and the Arts,” explores the African American influence on visual and performing arts, literature, fashion, folklore, language, film, music, architecture, culinary and other forms of cultural expression. The WWRSD celebrates Black History Month.
